Dr. Satesh Namasivayam has more than 15 years of robust and high-quality experience in the Higher Education industry. Satesh is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with Practising Certificate, registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, a Professional Technologist, registered with the Malaysian Board of Technologists, a Chartered Mechanical Engineer registered with the Engineering Council, United Kingdom and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, UK (IMechE).
He is the first and only International Committee Member for the Global Grand Challenges International Steering Committee, National Academy of Engineering, U.S.A. and is responsible for reviewing the Grand Challenge Scholars Programmes across Asia. Satesh is also a Lead Evaluator for the Engineering Accreditation Council, Malaysia.
Satesh’s research scope spans areas 4 and 9 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and as a research leader, has published more than 80 research articles and has secured more than RM1 million in research funding to date. Satesh also serves in numerous capacities as an external assessor, professional mentor and reviewer and was the first Malaysian to win the prestigious IMechE Young Member of the Year Award for Member Engagement. He is currently working on producing 3-D printed engineering systems and products using soon-to-be developed bio and nano-composite materials.
In the past 10 years, Satesh has been involved in providing training in the area of Safety and Health, Project Initiation, Planning, Execution and Completion. He has been constructing and delivering project management courses for over a decade to/for various private and public organizations, including the construction, real estate, and manufacturing industries.
