EN MUHAMAD SHARULNIZAM MOHD RONI read law at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) with an LL.B (Bachelor of Laws) (Honours) in the year 2018. Due to his various achievements in winning numerous national debate tournaments and public speaking competitions, he had been recognized by the IIUM and the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education by receiving Special Recognition Awards in Public Speaking, both in 2017 and 2018.

Sharul was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2019 and embarked on his legal career at Messrs. Zul Rafique & Partners, Kuala Lumpur, in their Employment & Industrial Relations and Litigation practice group, handling a range of contentious and non-contentious industrial relations and employment matters including unfair dismissal claim, poor performance, absenteeism, allegations of employee fraud and misrepresentation, judicial review proceedings at the High Court involving the decisions of the Industrial Court or the Minister of Human Resources/tribunal and advising on corporate restructuring affecting employees, including voluntary separation scheme (VSS), mutual separation agreement (MSA) and retrenchment. On top of industrial relations and employment matters, he was also handling debt recovery from illegal electricity consumption for meter tampering cases.

In 2020, he joined Messrs. Rosli Ismail & Co, whereby he handled a range of contentious and non-contentious matters, which include:- (i) Civil and Employment matters, including, handling civil litigation cases on debt recovery for outstanding water bill cases, land recovery, eviction proceedings against tenants, unfair dismissal and constructive dismissal claims, attending case managements/hearings/trials in Civil, Labour and Industrial Courts, physically and virtually, rendering advice to clients on union recognition claims and assisting clients in negotiation with unions on the renewal of the terms of the collective agreements and advising clients on disciplinary process; (ii) Criminal matters, including, attending remand sessions, mentions/case managements and conducting trials in Criminal Courts; and (iii) Corporate Real Estate / Conveyancing matters.

In MEF, Sharul’s main role as a Consultant – Industrial Relations is to manage the East Coast Region office located in Kuantan, Pahang, which covers all MEF’s members in the region i.e. Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang in providing advisory, consultation and discussion among members on matters of common interest, and seeking for the adoption of sound principles and practices of human resources (HR) and industrial relations (IR).
