Ms. Rajeswari obtained her LL.B (Hons) from University of London in 1992 and pursued a career as a Law Lecturer for 4 years. She was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1997 and practiced as an Advocate & Solicitor specialising in Industrial Relations and Employment Laws for over 20 years. Ms. Rajeswari has extensive experience in the Industrial Court of Malaysia and has regularly represented her clients in the High Court, Court of Appeal and the Federal Court. She has handled complex advisory and counsel work for many of Malaysia’s prominent public listed corporations and institutions.
Rajeswari was appointed as a Chairman of the Industrial Court of Malaysia in early 2018 and served in this capacity for nearly 6 years before joining MEF in July 2024. As Chairman of Industrial Court, Rajeswari has heard and disposed of over 600 cases. She has also presented papers at the Industrial Court Chairmen’s Conference and Judicial & Legal Service Training Institute (ILKAP).
Ms. Rajeswari also served as a Consultant in the World Bank where she contributed to the Introduction of Minimum Wages in Malaysia in 2012 and co-authored several reports. Ms. Rajeswari has been a regular speaker on Malaysian Employment and Industrial Relations laws and a contributing author of the guidebook - Industrial Relations and Practice in Malaysia published by Sweet & Maxwell in 2021.
