Senior Consultant – Industrial Relation [MEF Sabah Branch]
 
The Senior Consultant will provide consultancy and advisory services to the Federation’s members on all aspects of employment-related matters.
 
Responsibilities  

  • To represent members at conciliation proceedings at the Industrial Relations Department
  • To represent members at Labour Court and Industrial Court for hearings
  • To assist or represent members at negotiation for Collective Agreement with Union
  • To conduct & speak in the monthly regional meetings on current IR related issues/cases
  • To conduct training courses in Industrial Relations and Labour Laws
  • To conduct research and prepare papers on Human Resources/Industrial Relations matters, or other relevant position papers as may be requested, from time to time by the Executive Director and/or the General Manager – Industrial Relations
  • To attend meetings and any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time by the Executive Director or the General Manager – Industrial Relations
 
Requirements  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law with 5 - 10 years of relevant work experience in industrial relations and/or legal practice
  • Strong understanding of the key principles of employment laws. Those experienced in handling IR cases at the IR/Labor Court with strong circle of network are preferred
  • Strong ethics, moral and sound judgement
  • Strong leadership skills to guide, advise and support members
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and be a team player
 
Experience
  • 5 - 10 years of relevant work experience in industrial relations and/or legal practice
