Enterprises should have exemplary Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) performance to ensure the protection of all people affected by work activities. Employers should have systems for assessing and controlling risks, aimed at preventing harm to people from work-related incidents and accidents, thereby minimizing absences from work and disruption to processes, services and communities.
The efficient management of OSH risks is best achieved by instilling a safety culture within the organization, adopting a preventative approach, installing effective internal training systems, applying risk management and control principles aligning OSH intervention with other business operations. The training package is designed to assist employers to understand the basic OSH elements at the workplace. The training package will discuss legal requirements, duties and responsibilities of employers and employees and study the commons hazards and how to control them in order to improve the workplace.
With the knowledge and skills acquired at the end of the training programme, the trainees will be aware of the work-related hazards associated with the workplace and understand its control measure.
