MEF Press Release

MEF seeks to further strengthen ties with YB Datuk Seri M. Saravanan Minister of Human Resources and HRDFThursday, 1 October 2020
Press Release

MEF President YBhg Dato’ Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman J.P. congratulated the Minister of Human Resources YB Datuk Seri M. Saravanan and the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) for successfully conducting the 19th Annual General Meeting of HRDF.

In his congratulatory message, the MEF President reached out to the YB Datuk Seri Minister of Human Resources and the HRDF in identifying the areas of change needed by employers so as to close the skills gaps between graduates and industry demands.

“MEF recognises the HRDF as a key agency under the Ministry of Human Resources that bears the responsibility of contributing to efforts to improve skills training to industries in Malaysia. Today with the Covid‐19 situation, this role has become even more critical,” stated Dato’ Dr Syed Hussain.

“Malaysian employees and employers have greatly benefitted from the activities of HRDF since its inception in 1993.

“However, there are very difficult challenges that lie ahead for our country. MEF and the government, as well as other stakeholders, must come together so that we are able to move forward.

“I look forward to continue working closely with the Ministry of Human Resources and HRDF with a view to strengthen this good relationship that have been forged over the years.”

The Chairman of HRDF YBhg Dato’ Nelson Renganathan chaired its 19th Annual General Meeting that was held at the Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara on the 29th of September 2020. Also present were other Board Members and Chief Executive, En. Shahul Hameed Dawood.

The guest of honour, YB Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, Minister of Human Resources, expressed his appreciation to the registered members of HRDF for their continuous support to PSMB which has been invaluable to the growth of the organisation.
