MEF Press Release

Free training by HRDF under e-Latih to overcome current and future challengesTuesday, 9 February 2021
Press Release

PETALING JAYA: The newly established e-Latih hub which aims to provide two million Malaysians free access to relevant training this year is an excellent strategy by the Minister of Human Resources to jump start the economy as the nation recovers from the Covid-19 situation.

MEF President Dato’ Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman J.P. applauded the government for implementing the e-Latih hub under the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) that was launched by the Minister of Human Resources YB Datuk Seri M. Saravanan in Putrajaya on Feb 5, 2021.

“The e-Latih hub is a great platform that has the potential to upskill and reskill about two million Malaysians that would contribute to improving the efficiency and productivity of industries and businesses,” said Dato’ Dr Syed Hussain.

“Covid-19 mandates that strict SOPs be adhered to, such as social distancing, travel restrictions and having to adapt to the ‘new norm’ have forced many employers to remodel their businesses with employees having to have multi-skills and perform multiple tasks.

“The e-Latih hub would enable Malaysians to acquire the requisite skills and knowledge that are relevant in today’s massive borderless digital market, and also learn about the latest digital tools that are available.”

Dato’ Dr Syed Hussain congratulated YB Datuk Seri Saravanan, the Ministry of Human Resources and the HRDF for introducing the e-Latih hub which went online on Feb 5 and up to the end of 2021.

“MEF is supportive of efforts to enhance the employability of the rakyat and thanks the government for providing free training under the e-Latih hub.

“For employers, now is the time to upskill and reskill our employees so that we will together overcome the challenges presently at our doorsteps and in the future.”
