PETALING JAYA: Malaysia stands a better chance at resuming normal life and to return to business as usual with the arrival of the Covid-19 vaccines.
MEF President Dato’ Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman J.P. commended the government for its swift response to make available the vaccines with more than 630,000 people having registered for the National Covid-19 Vaccination Programme via the MySejahtera app so far, apart from more than 500,000 front liners that had registered for voluntary vaccination.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has caused much damage to business and family lives as we can no longer live our lives as before. Only by vaccination can we stand a chance to get back to normal life both in business and families,” said Dato’ Dr Syed Hussain.
“As Malaysians, we must take responsible steps to protect ourselves and the people around us by ensuring that we get vaccinated and protected.
“The battle against Covid-19 is a concerted effort and together we ensure that the success of vaccination programme is our top priority.”
Dato’ Dr Syed Hussain also called on private sector employers to continue to support the government’s efforts to stop the spread of Covid-19 by encouraging their employees to be vaccinated while at the same time adhering strictly to the established SOPs.
“Let us support the government efforts and together we make the National Covid -19 Immunisation Programme a success,” added Dato’ Dr Syed Hussain.
The National Covid-19 Vaccination Programme which began on Feb 24 will undergo three phases up to Feb 2022 with a target of vaccinating about 80% of the residents both local and foreign whether legal or illegal to establish ‘herd immunity’.
