MEF-Talent Corp live webinar on 'Diversity Inclusion' a big hitTuesday, 30 March 2021
Press Release

PETALING JAYA: The inaugural MEF-Talent Corp live webinar on ‘Diversity Inclusion’ that was held in conjunction with the International Women’s Day celebrations on Mar 29 attracted more than 200 participants representing members of the employer community and various stakeholders.

The line-up of expert speakers included seasoned legal practitioner Pn. R. Usha Devi of R. Usha Devi & Associates and Dr David Tan, Head of Experimentation at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), while the esteemed panel members consist of Datuk Nora Manaf, Group Chief Human Capital Officer of Maybank Berhad, and En. Izham Abdul Wahab, Head of Group Human Capital of DRB-Hicom Berhad.

MEF President Dato’ Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman J.P. was pleased that the live webinar had generated much interest among the employer community on diversity inclusion, especially the HR practitioners.

“MEF fully supports the agenda on encouraging the employment of women and diversity inclusion. In fact, all employers are aligned with these objectives as there are many plans to increase the women participation in employment,” said Dato’ Dr Syed Hussain.

“As working from home has now become a new normal for many employers, we have to explore new ways of managing our workforce especially with more women working from home.”

Dato’ Dr Syed Hussain acknowledged the support of the Minister of Human Resources YB Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, the Ministry of Human Resources and Talent Corp in terms of promoting diversity and empowering women, and also thanked SP Setia Berhad as the event’s executive sponsor.

“The live webinar was designed to be in line with the aspirations of the YB Minister of Human Resources who also is a strong supporter of promoting diversity and uplifting women at the workplace.

“MEF is working closely with the HR Ministry through HRDF on developing skills competencies and we are confident that this agenda would succeed with strong support from the government.

“We are also eager to further collaborate with Talent Corp and the UNDP on the subject of diversity inclusion as such joint study would add value to our stakeholders who are the employers, government and international organisations,” he added.
