The above Survey was conducted on 20 May 2015 to obtain feedback, comments and suggestions for improvement from members on the issues and challenges faced by employers arising from the implementation of GST.
Several findings of the Survey were:
- 89.0% of the participating companies faced challenges or issues in the implementation of GST in their companies whilst 11% of the participating companies did not face any challenges or issues in the implementation of GST in their companies.
- 69.6% of the participating companies indicated that the GST system or software was expensive to install.
- 57.2% of the participating companies indicated that the GST codes were not clear, followed by the GST codes were bureaucratic and cumbersome (51.7%) and GST codes were difficult to understand (50.6%).
