The Survey was conducted in February 2016 to obtain feedback and comments from members on the Government’s announcement to reduce the employees’ EPF monthly statutory contribution rate for two categories of employees namely employees below age 60 (from 11% to 8%) and employees above age 60 (from 5.5% to 4%). This would take into effect from March 2016 until December 2017. 266 companies participated in the Survey. The findings showed that an average of 75.1% of the surveyed employees below age 60 opted for more than 8% EPF contribution whilst an average of 9.3% of the surveyed employees above age 60 opted for more than 4% EPF contribution.
