MEF Analysis of Collective Agreements & Awards on Terms and Conditions of Employment 2019

The fifteenth edition of MEF Analysis of Collective Agreements & Awards on Terms and Conditions of Employment 2019 provides benchmarking analysis for unionised companies in the preparation for negotiations and can be used as an enabling reference tool during collective bargaining with the unions. The report was based on 294 collective agreements concluded in 2019 and 61 Industrial Court Awards on terms and conditions of employment handed down in 2019.
 
The highlights of the Analysis included the following:
 
  • 171 CAs provided for across-the-board salary adjustment at an average of 6.1% in 2019 as compared to 6.2% in 2018
  • 46.2% of the CAs provided discretionary bonus only, 36.4% provided contractual bonus only and 17.4% provided both contractual and discretionary bonus
  • the average amount of contractual bonus provided in 2019 was 1.6 months
  • 13 out of 32 awards that were decided by the Industrial Court in 2019 provided an average across-the-board salary adjustment at 6.4%
